Although many people think that the work of event organisers is like one never-ending celebration, Ivona Klimašauskienė, who has 18 years in the business, can prove with her experience that not everything is as it sometimes seems. A successful family business owner and organiser of almost 200 different celebrations a year, she knows how much effort it takes to ensure that even the most whimsical clients remember their special occasions forever. Whatever the case, Ivona truly loves her work and speaks about it with a smile. “She told Delfi what goes on behind the scenes at the biggest events, what strange or even curious situations she sees there and shared valuable tips for those who strive for perfection at their celebrations. Constant work with people is not so simple, says I. Klimašauskienė, the manager of Karklėnai Resort and event organiser, that her chosen path in life was determined by fate. The business that she runs today was once started by her father, who will rest in eternal peace, and, according to Ivona, her mother has always been at his side. Today, Klimašauskienė, who has a degree in economics, laughs and says that she grew up in restaurants and events, so it was a matter of course for her to follow the path started by her parents. However, while she is really happy and proud of this today, she does not hide the fact that taking over the family business has also presented her with some daily challenges. “The hardest thing in our business is, of course, the seasonality. In the warm season you can’t see when it’s day or night, and in the winter you have to work very hard to attract customers.
